Changing paper colors in Word.

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is having a great sale, 50% off  on May 25 and 26 so stop by and see what she has!  I made this card with the multi colored chevron paper from Lindsay's  Hugs and Kisses Valentine papers, that's right Valentines papers!  The paper in the set is shades of red, pink, yellow and green.  I pulled the image up in Word and went to my tools "change color" (I have added change color to my toolbar because I use it quite often) and I selected both the light blue and the darker blue right below it.  I love changing paper colors in Word, it makes your papers so much more versatile!  Of course I used my Perfect Layers rulers to get that clean 1/16" edge behind the lighter chevron layer.  That really gives it so much more dimension.  Follow my link and use Bove5% for 5% off Perfect Layers Rulers. The Tinkerbell stamps are from JoAnns I colored them with Letraset markers and Spica Atyou sparkle pens.  I used Stickles on the wings.  I printed the lighter chevron on copy paper and used it for the envelope liner.  I am sure Kayla will love this card, after all she loves Tinkerbell.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the birthday sentiment and I trimmed it with StampinUp Stampin Spots Almost Navy.  Thanks for looking.  ~Diane

Transform an old wine rack into marker storage.

Good Morning, I had the pleasure of doing a Podcast interview with Lindsay Weirich, the Frugal Crafter this week.  We discussed craft room organization and this was one of my ideas.  I made this organizer for my Letraset markers out of a wine rack I purchased at Salvation Army, it is an inexpensive one that expands or contracts to lay flat.  I measured the openings, they were a little bigger than 3"x3" so that is the size I made my boxes.  I made the boxes out of 12"x15"  Flexible Chopping Mats that I purchased in a package of 2 for a dollar at Dollar Treasure.  Very easy to make, I scored the mat with scissors and a ruler every 3".  I then cut the mat into 3 pieces: two 6"x12"pieces and one 3"x 12".  I used the 3"x12" to make the bottoms of the boxes and used packaging tape to assemble them.  You can also find glasses to fit into the openings, I originally used the POM ice tea glasses but they did not hold as many markers as these square boxes. I divided my markers into colors and I also have a box for Spica Atyou glitter markers and other unusual markers.  I made a 3 sided box for the bottom to hold my Souffle pens.  This sits on the top of my desk hutch so it is out of the way, yet still in sight.  I can pull a box of colors down to the desk to work with, or just grab them 1 at a time.
I know you will enjoy listening to Lindsay's Frugal Crafter Podcast, she offers 1 every Friday and they are always packed with awesome ideas.  Well, thanks for looking and hopefully also listening this week.  ~Diane

Proud as a Peacock

This is one of my favorite images from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, I have wanted to attempt it forever!  I am really happy with how it came out too.  I printed it twice once on the new Mod Summer Papers, which I changed to the color blue and again on white card stock.  I colored the big centers on the white cs in with my 3 different colors of Letraset Pro Markers, then cut them out and pasted them onto the blue print.  I did some shading on the blue print along with a ton of Stickles, I outlined just about everything with Stickles.  The picture truly does not show the sparkle I have going on here.   The gorgeous jewels are from Pizzazz APlenty the StampinUp background paper matched the embossing plate and that lace reminded me of the peacocks fan. Both of these sets are on sale today,  Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and MyGraphico are having a  1 day 40% off sale.  Please check out the bargains, you will kick yourself if you don't!  Thanks for looking, I really appreciate all of your sweet comments, ~Diane.
I am entering these challenges.
